State Representative Barry Hyde of North Little Rock is serving his third term representing District 40 in the General Assembly. His district includes part of Pulaski County, .
For the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Hyde serves as chair of the House Management Committee. He also chairs the Public School Desegregation Lawsuit Resolution Task Force. He serves on the Joint Budget Committee, where he chairs Peer Review. Rep. Hyde is also on the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee; the House Insurance and Commerce Committee; the House Rules Committee, and the Arkansas Lottery Commission Legislative Oversight Committee.
For the 87th General Assembly, Rep. Hyde was the chairman of the House Management Committee and a member of the House Judiciary Committee, the House Insurance and Commerce Committee and the Joint Budget Committee. He also served as House chairman of the Arkansas Lottery Commission Oversight Committee and vice chairman of the Joint Budget Committee’s Personnel Subcomittee. During his first term, Rep. Hyde was on the House Public Transportation Committee; the House Committee for Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs; Arkansas Legislative Council, and the Public School Desegregation Lawsuit Resolution Task Force.
Rep. Hyde graduated high school in Ohio and attended ASU-Beebe. He is a member of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, and the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, where he has served on the board of directors. He is a member of the North Little Rock Rotary Club, the North Little Rock School District Family and Community Involvement Council, and he has served as chairman of the board for Camp Robinson Community Council. In addition, Rep. Hyde served on the board for the North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club. He is a commercial builder and owner of Hydco, Inc. He is a Vietnam-era veteran, and in his spare time enjoys flying airplanes and traveling. Rep. Hyde is Catholic. He and his wife, Jeanne, have a son and two daughters.
