Rep. John Burris of Harrison is serving his third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives.  He represents District 98, which encompasses part of Boone County.

During the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Burris serves on the Joint Budget Committee, the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee and the committee for City, County and Local Affairs.

During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Burris  was the vice chair of the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, where he chaired the Subcommittee for Parks and Tourism.  He also served on the Arkansas Legislative Council; the committee for  Legislative Joint Auditing; the Joint Energy Committee; and the House Revenue and Tax Committee. He served as House Minority Leader during the 2011 Regular Session and 2012 Fiscal Session.
 

For the 87th General Assembly, Rep. Burris served on the House Public Transportation Committee, and the House Committee for City, County and Local Affairs.

He is a graduate of Arkansas State University.
