Rep. Mary P. Hickerson of Texarkana is serving her third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. She represents District 1, which includes part of Miller County.
For the 90th General Assembly, she serves on the Joint Performance Review Committee, the committee on Public Transportation, committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs, the committee on Constitutional Amendments, and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee.
For the 89th General Assembly, she served on the committee on Public Transportation and the committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs.
For the 88th General Assembly, she served on the committee on Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs, where she chaired the Subcommittee for Children and Youth. She also served on the committee on Public Transportation, the Rules Committee, and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee.
Rep. Hickerson graduated from Arkansas High School in Texarkana, and Watkins Business Institute. She attended the University of Tennessee in Nashville. Before serving in the House, she served ten years on the Arkansas State Highway Commission. She has also been a member of the Arkansas Good Roads and Transportation Council. In addition, she has been a board member for Christus St. Michael Health Systems and Texarkana Resources for the Disabled.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband, Randy, attend the Baptist Church. They have one grown son.
