Rep. Betty Overbey of Lamar is serving her third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. She represents District 69, which includes Johnson County and part of Pope County.

During the 90th General Assembly, Rep. Overbey will serve on the committee for Public Health, Welfare, and Labor, the Arkansas Legislative Council and she will serve as Chair of the committee for City, County and Local Affairs.

During the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Overbey served on the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee and the State Agencies and Governmental Affairs committee.

During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Overbey served on the House City, County and Local Affairs Committee, where she chairs the Local Government Personnel Subcommittee. She also served on the House Public Transportation Committee, and the Joint Energy Committee, and she was a non-voting member of the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee.

Rep. Overbey is a retired state revenue agent. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and bird watching, and she is active in the Stephens Ministry. She and her husband, George, are Methodist. They have three grown children.
