Rep. Betty Overbey of Lamar is serving her third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. She represents District 69, which includes Johnson County and part of Pope County.

For the 90th General Assembly, she serves on the committee on Public Health, Welfare and Labor, the Arkansas Legislative Council, the Joint Committee on Energy, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, and she is also Chair of the committee for City, County and Local Affairs.

For the 89th General Assembly, she served on the committee on Public Health, Welfare and Labor and the committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs.

For the 88th General Assembly, she served on the committee on City, County and Local Affairs, where she chaired the Local Government Personnel Subcommittee. She also served on the committee on Public Transportation, and the Joint Committee on Energy, and she was a non-voting member of the committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development.

Rep. Overbey is a retired state revenue agent. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and bird watching, and she is active in the Stephens Ministry. She and her husband, George, are Methodist. They have three grown children.
