Rep. Tommy Thompson of Morrilton is serving his second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 65, which encompasses Perry County and part of Conway County.
During the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Thompson serves on the Revenue and Taxation committee. Rep. Thompson also serves on the Agriculture, Forestry and Economic development and as well as the Arkansas Legislative Council.
During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Thompson served on the House Committee for City, County and Local Affairs, where he chaired the Subcommittee for House Planning. He also served on the House Public Transportation Committee and the House Rules Committee.
Rep. Thompson is retired from the UA Division of Agriculture. He is a graduate of Cabot High School, and he has a bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Arkansas, where he also earned a master's degree in adult education. Rep. Thompson is also a certified residential appraiser. He has been part of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents, the Conway County Farm Bureau Board, Morrilton Wastewater Commission, and the Arkansas Liquified Petroleum Gas Board. He is a recipient of the National Distinguished Service Award from the Association of County Agricultural Agents.
In his free time, Rep. Thompson enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, hunting, and fishing. He and his wife, Diane, are Baptist. They have three grown daughters.
