Rep. Bruce Westerman is serving his second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 22, which includes most of Garland County.
During the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Westerman serves on the Revenue And Taxation committee and and as well as the State Agencies And Governmental Affairs committee. Rep Westerman also is apart of the Arkansas Legislative Council.
For the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Westerman served on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee, where he was the chair of the Subcommittee on Sales, Use, Miscellaneous Taxes and Exemptions. He also served on the House Insurance and Commerce Committee. He currently served as House Minority Leader.
Rep. Westerman is a graduate of Fountain Lake High School, where he was valedictorian. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas and a master's degree in forestry from Yale University. He was named Outstanding Young Alumni from the University of Arkansas College of Engineering. He is an engineer and forester with Mid-South Engineering Company. Rep. Westerman is part of many organizations, including the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, where he served as president of the state chapter. He is also a former chair of the Arkansas Academy of Biological and Agricultural Engineers.
Rep. Westerman enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time. He and his wife, Sharon, have three sons and one daughter.
