Bill Filing Period Ends for Fiscal Session
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (February 22, 2010) - The period for which to file bills for consideration during the current Fiscal Session of the Arkansas General Assembly ended at close of business Monday, the 15th day of the session. There have been a total of 176 bills filed in the House and 131 bills filed in the Senate. In addition, there have been 10 concurrent resolutions and three resolutions filed in the House and Senate combined.
The session is allowed by constitution to last up to 30 days, and it may be extended one time, for no more than 15 days, by a three-fourths vote of both the House and the Senate. However, House leaders have said they expect the session to conclude earlier than the thirty days allowed.
