Rep. Fred Allen of Little Rock is serving his third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 33, which includes part of Pulaski County.
For the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Allen chairs the House Insurance and Commerce Committee. He also serves on the Joint Budget Committee; the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee; and he is an alternate to the Joint Committee for Pubic Retirement and Social Security Programs.
For the 87th General Assembly, Rep. Allen served as vice chair for the House Insurance and Committee, as well as the House Management Committee. He also served on the House Rules Committee; the House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee; the Legislative Facilities Committee; and the Public School and School Motor Vehicle Insurance Advisory Committee. During his first term, Rep. Allen was vice chair of the Arkansas State Game and Fish Commission Legislative Oversight Committee. He also served on the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee; the House Public Transportation Committee; and he was vice chair of the Task Force on Substance Abuse Protection.
Rep. Allen is a Little Rock native and is self-employed as a contractor and photographer. He attends St. Mark Baptist Church, and he has one grown daughter.
