Rep. Gary Deffenbaugh of Van Buren is serving his second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives.  He represents District 79, which includes part of Crawford County. 

For the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Deffenbaugh will serve on the Legislative Joint Audit Committee, the Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee and Education Committee.

For the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Deffenbaugh served on the House Committee for Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs, where he is chaired the Subcommittee for Legislative, Military and Veterans Affairs.  Rep. Deffenbaugh also served on the House Judiciary Committee and the Joint Committee for Public Retirement and Social Security Programs.
 

Rep. Deffenbaugh earned a bachelor's degree in education from Ouachita Baptist University.  He is a retired teacher and coach, and in his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and traveling.  Rep. Deffenbaugh and his wife, Carolyn, are Southern Baptist.  They have two grown children.
