Rep. Lane Jean of Magnolia is serving his third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 2, which includes parts of Lafayette, Miller, and Columbia counties.
During the 90th General Assembly, Rep. Lane serves on the Revenue and Taxation, Agiculture, Forestray and Economic Development and Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, Joint Budget, Joint Committee on Entergy.
For the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Jean will served on the Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee; the Revenue and Taxation Committee, the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs, and the Joint Budget Committee.
For the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Jean has served on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee, and the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee. He is a non-voting member of the House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee.
Rep. Jean graduated from Magnolia High School. He attended Abilene Christian University and graduated from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia with a bachelor's degree in history. Rep. Jean works in timber, real estate and cattle. He is a past mayor of Magnolia, and he served on the Columbia County Quorum Court. He served as an Arkansas Department of Economic Development Commissioner for three years, and he was a member of the Southern Arkansas University Board of Trustees. Rep. Jean is a member of the Columbia County Cattlemen Assoc. and the Arkansas Municipal League.
He enjoys spending time outdoors in his free time. He and his wife, Judy, are members of the Church of Christ, and they have two grown children and one grandchild.
