Rep. Tracy Steele of North Little Rock is serving his third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 39, which includes part of Pulaski County. He was first elected to the House in 1999, and he served two terms before being elected to the Arkansas Senate in 2003.
During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Steele serves as vice chair of Joint Performance Review. He also serves on the House Education Committee and the House Committee for City, County and Local Affairs.
For the 87th General Assembly, Rep.Steele chaired the Senate and Youth Committee, and he was vice chair of the Senate Public Health Committee. He also served on the Arkansas Legislative Council; the Joint Budget Committee; the Lottery Commission Legislative Oversight Committee; the Senate Committee for City, County and Local Affairs, and the Senate Rules Committee.
Rep. Steele is CEO of the Stand Foundation. He is a graduate of the North Little Rock East High School and Rice University. He has served on the Baptist Health Board of Trustees, the National Black Caucus of State Legislatures Executive Board, the North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club, and the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Board. He was presented the Channel 4 Award for Community Service, and the Tom Joyner Courage Award. He was inducted into the North Little Rock Boys and Girls Club Alumni Hall of Fame, and he received the Arkansas Municipal League Distinguished Legislator Award.
Rep. Steele and his wife, Cassandra attend the Baptist church. They have two children.
