Rep. John T. Vines of Hot Springs is serving his first term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 25, which encompasses part of Garland County.
During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Vines serves on the House Judiciary Committee, where he is chair of the Courts and Civil Law Subcommittee. He also serves on the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee and the House Rules Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Code Revision Commission.
Rep. Vines is a graduate of Newport High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Arkansas, and he holds a law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law .
Rep. Vines has been involved with several civic organizations. He is a member of the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club, the Arkansas Bar Association, the Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, where he has served as chairperson, and the Hot Springs Boys and Girls Club. He was recently named to the Arkansas Business "40 Under 40" list of influential state business and political leaders. He and his wife, Libby, have two children.
