Biography
Rep. Stu Smith is serving his second term in the Arkansas House. He represents District 63 which includes a portion of Independence County.
For the 93rd General Assembly, Rep. Smith serves on the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, the House Education Committee, and the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative & Military Affairs Committee.
Rep. Smith graduated from Lyon College with his B.A. degree. Lyon College and the Batesville area both added him to the Athletic Hall of Fame. He is a retired educator and was awarded the 2017 Batesville Community Educator of the Year. In addition to the educator awards, he has also received several national and state coaching awards. Rep. Smith has been active in the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and the Lyon College Alumni Association.
He lives in Batesville with his wife and has three children.
