Tippi McCullough

Rep. Tippi McCullough is serving her fourth term in the Arkansas House. She represents District 74 which covers a portion of Pulaski County and includes downtown Little Rock from I-30 moving westward up through the middle and heart of LR nearly to I-430 with a north border of Cantrell Rd. and south border of I-630 which narrows to Markham St.

For the 95th General Assembly, Rep. McCullough serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House City, County, and Local Affairs Committee. She also serves on the Legislative Joint Budget Committee and Public Retirement and Social Security.

She was elected as the House Democratic Caucus Minority Leader for two terms 2020-2022 and 2022-2024.

Rep. McCullough is a retired educator. She received an associate’s degree in physical education from Garland County Community College, a B.S.E. in physical education and English from Ouachita Baptist University, and an M.S.E. in English from Henderson State University. She has taught and coached in communities all over Arkansas and was the first woman to serve as president of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association.

She has served on boards for the Arkansas Education Association Legislative Committee, the National Education Association Women’s Issues Committee, the First United Methodist Church Downtown Little Rock, Just Communities of Arkansas, and the Arkansas Humanities Council. She currently serves on the boards of Kaleidoscope Film Festival, the Arkansas Cinema Society, the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, and the Stonewall Democratic Caucus of AR.

Rep. McCullough has received awards for her work from the AR ACLU, the Arkansas Times, the AR Coalition Against Domestic Violence, The Advocate magazine, the AR Municipal League, the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, AR Advocates for Children and Families, the Prosecuting Attorneys Association Advocate of Justice Award, Youth Home, the Victory Fund Midwest Reception Deb Shore Award, an LGBTQ+ Victory Institute David Bohnett Foundation Fellowship to and was awarded a certificate of completion for the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program 7/2024, John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education, and a 2025 AAUW Humanitarian Award. Tippi and her wife are currently the subjects of a documentary short “Barb and Tippi” which premiered last October at the 33rd Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and had its ACS Premier in Little Rock in February and is showing across the U.S. and world.

She lives in Little Rock with her wife Barbara Mariani.
