Rep. Joey L. Carr is serving his second term in the Arkansas House. He represents District 34 which includes a portion of Mississippi County.
For the 95th General Assembly, Rep. Carr serves on the House Public Transportation and the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee.
Rep. Carr is an elementary principal with the Armorel School District in Armorel.
He earned his bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Central Arkansas. While at UCA, he was a charter member & officer in the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He went on to earn his master of science in education from Arkansas State.
Rep. Carr is a board member of the Arkansas Association of Elementary Principals, a guest leader on Arkansas Administrator’s Leadership, chairman of deacons and an assistant Sunday school teacher at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville, and a member of Gideons International.
He received the Who’s Who Among Arkansas High School Teachers in 1988, 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2005. Also, he was selected as the 3A District Basketball Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2011.
Rep. Carr enjoys hunting and enjoying the great outdoors, playing music, and learning about the world and American history.
He and his wife, Deanna, live in Armorel and have three adult daughters, Madison, McKinley, and Mayson, and one adult son, Monroe.
