Rep. John W. Walker of Little Rock is serving his fourth term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 34, which includes portions of Pulaski County.

For the 91st General Assembly, he serves on the House Education Committee, the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee, and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee.

Rep. Walker is an attorney. He owns John W. Walker, P.A., a general practice operation. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a master's degree in education from New York University, and a law degree from Yale University.

He is involved with several organizations, including the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the National Bar Association, and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. He is a recipient of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association Warhorse Award, the Lawyer of the Year Award by the Arkansas Bar Association and he was inducted in the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 1999.

 

He has five grown children.
