Rep. David Whitaker is serving his third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 85 which includes a portion of Washington County.
For the 91st General Assembly, he serves on House Judiciary Committee, the House Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development Committee, the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, and the Joint Committee on Advanced Communications and Information Technology.
Rep. Whitaker graduated cum laude from University of Mary Washington. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law in Fayetteville. He served as Staff Sergeant for the United States Air Force.
He practices law and is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association. Rep. Whitaker was recognized in 2006 with the Outstanding Government Attorney Award. He was also named Distinguished Legislator by the Arkansas Municipal League in 2013 and 2015. He was named Legislative Champion by Citizens First Congress in 2015.
Rep. Whitaker has two daughters. He resides in Fayetteville with his wife, Lisa.
