About Rep. Deffenbaugh

Rep. Gary Deffenbaugh of Van Buren is serving his fourth term in the Arkansas House of Representatives.  He represents District 79, which includes part of Crawford County. 

For the 91st General Assembly, Rep. Deffenbaugh serves as vice-chair for the Joint Committee on Public Retirement and Social Security Programs.

He also serves on the House Education Committee, the House City, County, and Local Affairs Committee, and Arkansas Legislative Council.

Rep. Deffenbaugh earned a bachelor's degree in education from Ouachita Baptist University.  He is a retired teacher and coach, and in his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and traveling. He and his wife, Carolyn, are Southern Baptist.  They have two grown children.
