On the third day of the 2025 Regular Session, several House committees held organizational meetings.
The House Rules Committee advanced HB1056, which proposes the creation of a Joint Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs. This committee would conduct ongoing studies on military and veterans' issues, consisting of 12 House members and eight Senate members from the Senate State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee.
Additionally, the House passed HB1002, the General Appropriation Act, which is required before considering other appropriations. The House will reconvene Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
