On Monday, the House of Representatives convened to address several pieces of legislation.
The House passed HB1149, which prevents counties or municipalities from imposing regulations on vegetable gardens located on residential properties, ensuring homeowners have the right to cultivate their own produce.
Additionally, the House passed HB1048, allowing for the sale of unpasteurized milk at farmers' markets or through direct delivery from the farm where it is produced.
Another measure, SB61, received approval from the House, establishing guidelines for veterinarians to practice telemedicine in emergency or urgent situations.
Finally, legislators passed HB1138, which expands the list of medical professionals authorized to certify individuals for disability-related parking accommodations or special license plates. With this change, physical therapists can now certify a person’s eligibility.
